Collection of material about the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1973.

Collection consists of 4 volumes containing 200 black and white and color photographic reproductions of propaganda posters issued by both the Republican and Nationalist forces in the Spanish Civil War, 5 volumes of photographs of events and personalities of the conflict, and the two volume, "Spain's generation of '98," consisting of photographs and newspaper articles on the lives and writings of Spanish writers and philosophers, edited by Dr. Robert Harris. The posters are indexed and preceded by an introduction, "Propaganda and information in the Spanish Civil War," by Dr. Ricardo de la Cierva, Archivist of the Spanish Civil War Library of the Spanish Ministry of Information and Tourism, and include the work of Carlos Sáenz de Tejada and "Nin" for the Nationalists, and Bardasano and Castelao for the Republicans in Barcelona. Original posters and photographs are located in the Archives of Madrid, Salamanca, and elsewhere.
